The Siesta in the Sault is Over- time to tackle Lake Michigan

After almost a week in Sault Ste. Marie, the newest deck-mate Brian has arrived.  So Andy, Pat and Brian will be shoving off in the morning to check in at customs and then cruise along one of the coasts of  Lake Michigan.  Over the past week, Andy claims he’s been cleaning the boat and getting it ready for  foreign waters as well as familiarizing himself with the charts for Lake Michigan that he had downloaded and printed.  He’s sent pictures to prove his efforts, and finally had the lettering done  for home port and on the dingy.  People at BCYC won’t believe that Andy knows how to scrub the boat; as it always seemed to be my job on the Odyssey.  I’m starting to count the working days until I can join the captain–currently at 32!  Hope he doesn’t forget how to clean once I come aboard!

He also observed some larger boats in the harbor carrying ore of some type. ssm5
